Access to lab space and equipment is the most critical and immediate need for life science startups working to transition technologies into commercial applications.
LSIC has a mission to strengthen the life sciences innovation ecosystem by fostering ground-breaking ideas, inspiring collaboration, supporting entrepreneurship, and driving social and economic impact. LSIC has a vision to promote innovation and accelerate the translation of life science research to create impactful solutions.
Established in 2015 LSIC is the only wet lab incubator facility of its kind in Northern California, supporting life science startups ranging from ag tech to human therapeutics.
LSIC is a public-private partnership between UC Davis and HM.CLAUSE. HM.CLAUSE is a business unit of Limagrain, a global agricultural co-operative dedicated to providing agriculture everywhere, for everyone. UC Davis is a top tier public land-grant University based in Davis, CA whose researchers are seeking solutions for the world’s most critical issues.
LSIC CaPABILITIES
The LSIC has a ‘rent by the bench’ model, giving startups access to shared equipment, offices, and meeting space, and the opportunity for supplemental access to greenhouses and open field space.

LSIC has a 3100 sq ft wet lab with 13 lab benches equipped for Chemistry and Molecular and Cell Biology Research. Access to lab space include a 36-inch lab bench, shared equipment, and office and conference rooms.

The LSIC includes greenhouse and open field space and trial capabilities. We have over 1800 sq ft of state-of-the-art greenhouse space for year-round growing and several hundred acres of open fields for growing plants.
